City Tavern

On Sunday we had an impromptu date to City Tavern in Newcastle city centre. Its a lovely traditional looking pub with cask ales, wood furnishings and delicious food. We've been to the pub a few times and enjoyed it more each time. The drinks, food and atmosphere are all perfect for a cozy date. They have old movies on in the background and vintage photographs dotted around.

To drink we had deliciously dry martinis with olives, then I had a half pint of Hobgoblin in a proper old mug (my Granddad drinks from them!). I ate a homemade hamburger with onions and fries whilst Az had salmon, chorizo and new potatoes. Both were very tasty, so much so that we tucked in instead of taking photos! But hey, nobody has time to get the right angle for a burger when you're starving. Can we talk about the gorgeous man I was sat opposite too? This wasn't even posed, he was just watching the F1. Another reason we're well suited.

City Tavern is on Northumberland Road, NE1
They are also on Twitter and Facebook
