World Lupus Day

Today, May 10th, is World Lupus Day. Typically I'm exhausted, but I wanted to share some facts about my illness with you all.

Lupus is an illness which affects your immune system, basically causing it to not recognise what it should be attacking from the good things- so it attacks bones, organs and tissue instead. For me it affects my hips, knees, ankles, wrists, kidneys and mental health, to name a few. There's no cure for Lupus but it can be controlled with medication and care. A main trigger for Lupus is heat and sunlight, which can cause a flare.

I'd love it if everyone who read this could share posts to do with Lupus on the #WorldLupusDay hashtag, while there may be no cure for Lupus awareness can help save lives.

  1. How awesome to speak out about this! After having my baby son back in May I have felt incredibly ill nearly every day but doctors could find nothing wrong, so they assume that it is most likely an ME/CFS like condition. I have been put on antidepressant citalopram and have felt a lot better on that, but I am still honestly not sure why I feel/felt like this! I have bad patches where I feel ill and exhausted occasionally, and very sleepy! xx
